Originally a textile group they have now changed their emphasis and expanded their sphere of operation.
The main project which we have helped fund is the tree nursery. We sent £500 for the purchase of the initial saplings of a particular drought resistant tree. These trees are very important in that region as they attempt to halt desertification. They now propagate these trees and sell them. Not only does this give the women an income enabling them to send their children to school etc. but they have been able to fund other projects.
